Kino Kult CIC is an audiovisual arts and live cinema collective operating in Portsmouth, UK, on the south cast. The collective has been operating in and around the city since 2004. DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenge
It is a film festival with a difference in that all the films screened at the gala premiere and awards ceremony were made in the preceding 48 hours. What happens is that at 5 pm on the Friday night before the premier teams from across the country are given a film ‘title, genre and line of dialogue’. On Sunday at 5 pm they submit thefilm which is judged and screened at a glittering awards night the following Saturday.
This challenge is a fun event but also a vital skills development opportunity for filmmakers, project managers and writers. As the winner of Shaping Portsmouth 2023 Education Award DVMISSION can be thought of as a catalyst and an important starting point for participants’ creative careers.

Making Waves Film Festival is Portsmouth’s annual film festival and short film competition celebrating innovative and bold filmmaking that inspires audiences. The festival has been operating in the city of Portsmouth since 2011.

one000plateaus is a collective of audio-visual artists and performers operating in the city since 2005. We have staged events in arts centres, galleries, bars and clubs drawing together anyone inspired by the potential for immersive live cinema performances that break down the barriers between forms, traditions and practices.
one000plateaus embraces the principles of “radical” inclusion, self-reliance, self-expression, community cooperation, gifting, de-commodification, and leaving no trace – and offers creatives an open platform for digital arts, performance and media, a aims to construct temporary autonomous zones in which to play.
